The king granted Nehemiah’s request to give him letters to ensure the safety of the conduit and timber for the gate and the house where he lived. The enemy was “deeply disturbed because a man had come to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.” The people rallied and were able to finish the great work in 52 days, despite the great hostility. (If you were teaching chronologically, this lesson would be taught after Esther.) This book is remarkable to me, not only for its encouraging spiritual lessons, but because the Lord honors every worker by name…what a treasure. and rewards. stored in it is theirs forever!

I am the Lord who speaks! ‘I will bless the humble of heart, and the adversary who tremble at my words.'” This lesson should be especially encouraging to you as a teacher, because in this story we model the Levites and we will efforts to help children understand the written words. Print the worksheet on cardboard. Cut out part of the scroll, leaving room to write the memory verse.
